Under NMC’s rules for foreign medical graduates, the entire course must be taught in English. Some universities advertise “English medium” but switch to the local language in later years.
How to check
- Ask for the official curriculum showing the language of instruction for every year.
- Ask current senior students which language their clinical classes use.
- Get the confirmation in writing from the university, not only from an agent.
Learning the local language is still important for talking to patients, but your teaching and exams must be in English to meet the rule.
